Welcome to Sansom Shag Rugs, a company dedicated to providing high-quality rugs and carpets. These Terms and Conditions outline the policies governing your purchase, ensuring a transparent and seamless experience. By placing an order, you agree to abide by these terms. Please review them carefully.

1. Ordering and Product Availability

To ensure your rug matches your home décor and meets your expectations, we strongly recommend ordering a sample before purchasing. Samples allow you to evaluate color, texture, and quality. Please note the following:

  • Seasonal Items and Dye Lots: Product availability, dye lots, and stock levels may vary due to factors beyond our control. To secure your desired rug, place your order promptly after receiving your sample.

  • Custom Orders: Custom-sized or custom-dyed rugs are non-returnable and non-exchangeable. For custom-dyed orders, we provide a color swatch for approval. While we strive to match the approved swatch as closely as possible, exact color replication is not guaranteed. Custom-dyed orders require a minimum purchase of a 12’ x 60’ roll and incur a $1,275.00 dyeing fee.

2. Product Characteristics

Our rugs are crafted with care, but certain materials have unique properties:

  • Deep High-Pile Shag Rugs: Made from nylon, polyester, or blends, these rugs offer comfort and warmth but may shed fibers initially. Regular vacuuming with a hose attachment will minimize shedding over time.

  • Wool Shag Rugs: Wool rugs are luxurious but will shed throughout their lifetime, which is normal for this material. We recommend avoiding wool rugs in high-traffic areas to reduce wear.

3. Shipping and Delivery

We strive to ensure safe and timely delivery of your order:

  • Shipping Methods: Rugs measuring 8’ x 10’ or smaller ship via FedEx. Smaller items, such as samples, ship via USPS Priority Mail. Rugs wider than 8 feet ship via Old Dominion with insurance included.

  • Delivery Requirements: For larger rugs, customers must be present to offload the shipment, as white-glove delivery is not available due to cost constraints. Please provide accurate contact information (phone number and email) to schedule delivery.

  • Inspection Upon Delivery: Upon receiving your rug, inspect it thoroughly, including the underside and packaging, for any rips, cuts, or damage. Report any issues to the driver and note them on the shipping manifest. Contact our customer service team within 48 hours with photos of any damage to initiate a claim.

4. Warranty

Sansom Shag Rugs offers a 90-day warranty on all rugs, ensuring they arrive in excellent condition. Each rug is inspected and securely wrapped before leaving our warehouse. If your rug arrives damaged or defective:

  • Contact customer service within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage.

  • We will arrange a replacement or refund, subject to inspection, at no additional cost to you.

  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, such as pet clawing, digging, or urine stains.

5. Returns and Exchanges

For detailed return and exchange policies, please refer to our Return Policy Guidelines. Key points include:

  • Rugs measuring 6’ x 9’ or smaller are eligible for return within 30 days, subject to a 30% restocking fee. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

  • Samples, custom-sized, and custom-dyed rugs are non-returnable.

  • To initiate a return, contact customer service to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

6. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth purchasing experience:

  • Accurate Measurements: For custom orders, provide measurements in inches unless purchasing a full roll (standard rolls are 12 feet wide).

  • Contact Information: Provide up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses for shipping coordination.

  • Care and Maintenance: Follow care instructions for your rug’s material to maintain its quality and longevity.

7. Customer Service

Return Policy Guidelines

Time Frame for Returns

Customers may return rugs measuring 6x9 or smaller within 30 days of purchase for a refund or exchange. A 30% restocking fee applies to all returns, and customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Returned rugs must be in their original condition and packaging. Samples are non-returnable. To reduce the likelihood of returns, we recommend ordering a sample prior to placing your rug order to confirm product suitability. Custom sizes and custom-dyed carpets are non-returnable. When ordering custom sizes, please provide measurements in inches unless purchasing a full roll. Standard rolls are 12 feet wide.

Condition of Returned Items

Rugs measuring 6x9 or smaller must be returned unused, in their original, sealed packaging. Customers are responsible for purchasing shipping insurance for return shipments. Refunds will be issued only after the item is inspected and confirmed to be free of damage.

Refund and Exchange Options

Refunds will be processed using the original payment method or issued as store credit, at the customer’s discretion. Exchanges are also available; however, customers are responsible for shipping costs associated with the replacement rug.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs. To prevent damage during transit, ensure return shipments are securely packaged and sent via a reliable carrier.

Restocking and Handling Fees

A 30% restocking fee will be applied to eligible returns. Please review the fee structure associated with your purchase prior to initiating a return.
